How to Get Your Heart's Desire

What if one act could make all of your dreams come true? Would you do it?

What if your biggest blessing was on the other side of your obedience?

If all you had to do was the last thing that God asked you to (which probably wasn't much)? Would you obey?

I'm sure you're thinking "Heck yea. All I have to do is what God asked and I'm guaranteed my heart's desires? I'd do whatever."

Well, we are given that opportunity everyday and most of us don't take it. God usually asks us to do simple things such as, be still, leave, turn around, let it go, ect; yet we continue moving in our own direction as if it's gotten us anywhere so far.

We put more trust in our own failing attempts, out of fear that things won't play out how we want them to if we put them in the hands of someone we can't control. (read that again)

We think, "it's such a small thing, whether or not I do it, shouldn't effect my life that much." Wrong! This isn't about the task! This is a test of your faith. Do you have enough faith to do something so small with expectancy of something greater?

Plus, how can you ever expect to trust God if you don't give him the opportunity to prove Himself faithful?

Luke 8:48 Then he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace.”

2 Kings 5: 11-14 (I really encourage you to read this entire chapter)

11 But Naaman became angry and stalked away. “I thought he would certainly come out to meet me!” he said. “I expected him to wave his hand over the leprosy and call on the name of the Lord his God and heal me! 12 Aren’t the rivers of Damascus, the Abana and the Pharpar, better than any of the rivers of Israel? Why shouldn’t I wash in them and be healed?” So Naaman turned and went away in a rage.

13 But his officers tried to reason with him and said, “Sir,[c] if the prophet had told you to do something very difficult, wouldn’t you have done it? So you should certainly obey him when he says simply, ‘Go and wash and be cured!’” 14 So Naaman went down to the Jordan River and dipped himself seven times, as the man of God had instructed him. And his skin became as healthy as the skin of a young child, and he was healed!
